KNX Switch Actuator Questions
Quick answers to common questions about rated current, channel configuration and DIN-rail installation for KNX switch actuator projects.
Select the rated current according to the connected load type, circuit design and required switching capacity. A 10A model is suitable for many standard lighting circuits, while 16A or 20A versions provide greater capacity for higher-load applications. The final selection should follow the electrical specifications and safety requirements of the project.
Each independently controlled electrical circuit normally requires one actuator channel. Count the lighting, socket or other switched circuits that need separate control, then select a 4-, 8-, 12- or 24-channel model. Larger projects can combine multiple actuators according to the distribution-board layout.
Check the actuator width stated in the model-specific datasheet and compare it with the available space in the electrical distribution board. Allow additional room for the KNX bus connection, load wiring, terminal access, ventilation and future maintenance. Contact DERVIRGA for the exact dimensions of the selected model.
